… and a Happy New Year

Ladies & Gentlemen, a very Happy New Year to you all… well not we’ve got Christmas over at least. It’s been a funny time of year. I really enjoyed the journey home from England (the 3.5 hour train journey, and 2 hour ferry journey, or even the 2.5 hour car journey didn’t get me down at all), and it’s been good to be home. The old country is indeed a great place.

Christmas came & went… the food was fantastic (you have no idea honestly), the company stupendeous & the gifts, as always, generous. Throughout the course of the last 3 / 4 months I’ve been giving mum ideas for what to get me for chrimbo… and she only managed to get them all!! (mental note to self, bigger list next year!).

Suit carrier, 160 piece toolset and a fine pair of binoculars (for cricket watching) added up to a fantastic haul this year… although the DVD boxset of Sledgehammer (Series 1) was perhaps the highlight!!

Other highlights of the season have been watching Portadown on Boxing day. It helped that we won of course, but good to be back at the Irish League nonetheless.

On the downside, I’ve been smitten with a cold for the best part of four days… it’s been a horrid time to get it, but I suppose I’d rather be at home when it happens than in England or on holiday. But it’s a case of down but not out…

Anyways, we’ll have to see how the NYE goes before the journey back to England on Sunday. If I’m not speaking to you before hand, have a cracking wee one & See you in 2006.

About Mcfaggen

Having grown up in Co. Fermanagh where most of my family still reside, I thought it would be worthwhile to keep a blog of my travels around the rest of the UK, Europe and the World.
