*! Announcement !*

It is with lots of happiness, pride and love that I can announce to the world that Dina and I got engaged yesterday at the Lough Navar look out in Co. Fermanagh. We reached the view point at around 1030 and I popped the question, with ring in hand, on one knee shortly after.

I’m delighted & honoured that Dina has agreed to marry me and whilst many decisions and challenges remain ahead, I’m totally thrilled.

Frequently Asked Questions:

So far, I’ve noted that the same questions keep being brought up… so I thought I’d be helpful and create a short FAQ just in case you want to know:

– – – – –

Q. When are you getting married?

A. We’ve no idea just yet… but we’re working on it.

– – – – –

Q. Where are you getting married?

A. At the moment, we hope to get married in Northern Ireland.

– – – – –

Q. Did you pick the ring?

A. Dina had design authority, but she couldn’t decide between two types of ring… so I guess the answer is yes I did. That said, it was a team effort to get the perfect ring for Dina – and truth be told we both thoroughly enjoyed the ring buying process!!

– – – – –

Q. Was it planned or spontaneous?

A. Well, if we’ve ever met, you’d know the answer to that question… of course it was planned!! Though Dina knew I had the ring in my hand, the timing was at my leisure… so there was a degree of head games, but I always knew when & how I wanted to propose.

Q. Does the location of the Lough Navar look out mean something to you?

A. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the most beautiful place in the world… and it’s near my home place in Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, so in my mind, it was perfect. A unspoiled view of Fermanagh, Donegal and Tyrone, good weather and the girl I love… what more could I ask?!

Q. Are your family happy?

A. Yes!! My mother was in total shock to be honest, but now that she’s had time to let it sink in, it’s all good.

About Mcfaggen

Having grown up in Co. Fermanagh where most of my family still reside, I thought it would be worthwhile to keep a blog of my travels around the rest of the UK, Europe and the World.
